On Saturday, 11th July Radcliffe and Bingham Chess Club took up what has now become its usual spot at the annual Radcliffe Carnival.
Ideally situated in the shade of a couple of tall trees – a blessing given the hot weather – our selection of multi-coloured, large and giant-sized chess sets attracted around a hundred players of all ages and abilities during the course of the afternoon. Competition was intense, with lots of children enthusiastically showing off their skills in checkmating their parents!
