Welcome to
Radcliffe and Bingham
Chess Club

The centre for chess in south-east Nottinghamshire.

We are a club full of friendly and active chess enthusiasts of all ages and all abilities.  You would be most welcome to join us for a game or three, to learn more about how to improve, and to compete in club and league competitions.

Our club has seven teams playing in the Nottinghamshire Chess League, and members also regularly participate in tournaments and other events.

We are the proud winners of the English Chess Federation’s ‘Small Club of the Year’ Award for 2024. This national award recognises the enthusiastic and enjoyable environment we have created and also the tremendous contribution we make to promoting chess throughout the county.

Whatever your level of skill or interest in this greatest of board games, you will be able to develop your enjoyment of chess at our club.

– Nick London, Club Captain

We have a new venue!

Long Acre Arts is a spacious, modern venue that was fully renovated in 2025. It is run as a charitable trust dedicated to promoting community arts and well-being.
